Josephine E. Santoro, 89, of North Providence joined her loving husband in Heaven, on March 2, 2015. She was the wife of the late Salvatore Santoro, former Battalion Chief of the Providence Fire Department.
She was the daughter of the late Michael and Carmina (Picerne) Colaneri.
Josephine was an absolutely beautiful woman inside and out. Her smile lit up a room immediately and her laugh was contagious. Josephine spent her life making the world beautiful in many ways. She was an incredible cook and a baker. She had many friends. She loved walking, exercising, and interior decorating. After raising her 3 children, she became a crossing guard for the City of Providence and later helped to raise her grandchildren.
Josephine was the proud and loving mother to Christine Robinson (Kenneth), Joseph and Shirley Santoro, and Michael Santoro (Elaine.) She was the cherished grandmother to Lauren and Corey Franco, Joseph, Jonathan, Jarod, and Taylor Santoro. Josie, was the sister of the late Anthony Colaneri and Anna Gannon.
She will be an act that one could never follow, for she was one of a kind. We are blessed to have called her mother.
