Albert Sgambato, 91, of North Providence, passed away Saturday, May 10, 2008 at the VA Medical Center in Providence. He was the beloved husband
of Lucille (Agnew) Sgambato. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Giuseppe and Assunta (Palmieri) Sgambato.

Albert had worked as a waiter at the Providence Biltmore Hotel for many years. He was a sports enthusiast, playing Football, Baseball and Soccer and it was on the Football field where he considered himself a “triple threat”. He was an avid Yankees Fan
and served his Country in the Army during WWII.

He was a loving husband and father and a devoted grandfather. Besides his wife of 61 years, he leaves two sons, Joseph A. Sgambato and Albert M. Sgambato, Jr.; a daughter, Carol A. Payette; a sister, Lillian Hardiman and five grandchildren, Renee Pecarific, Henry A. Payette and Anya, Ashley and Erika Sgambato. He was the brother of the late John, Joseph and Ida Sgambato.

His funeral will be held Wednesday at 9am, from the MACERONI Funeral Home, 1381 Smith St., North Providence, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in Presentation Church, 1081 Mineral Spring Ave., North Providence. VISITATION Tuesday 5-8pm. Burial with Military Honors will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to RI Mood and Memory Research Institute, 1018 Waterman Ave., East Providence, RI 02914.
