Alfonso S. Romano, 89, of Johnston, passed away Tuesday, February 1, 2011 at home. He was the beloved husband of the late Jennie Rose (Gasbarrino) Romano. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Michael and Rosalina (Tella) Romano.
Alfonso was a mold maker for Trifari Jewelry and later worked as a Panagraph operator for Union Tool until his retirement. He was a volunteer for the Boy Scouts of America, Troop 15, Johnston and was a Navy Veteran of WWII.
He leaves a son, Michael J. Romano and a granddaughter, Jasmine Lee Carcieri. He was the brother of the late Ralph Romano and Michael Romano, Jr.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial Friday at 11 a.m. in St. Rocco Church, Atwood Ave., Johnston. Visiting hours respectfully omitted. Burial with Military Honors will be in St. Francis Cemetery, Pawtucket.
