Alfred, A. Antoni, 83, of Providence, passed away Sunday, May 18, 2008, at Heritage Hills Nursing Centre in Smithfield. He was the beloved husband of the late Olympia P.(Simeone) Antoni. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Archie and Amelia (Petrocelli) Antoni.
An Army Air Corps Veteran of WW II, Alfred had been a central office repairman for New England Telephone for 36 years retiring in 1986. He was a player agent for Mt. Pleasant Little League for 25 years as well as a member of IBEW Local 2323 and the Sons of Italy.
He leaves two sons, Alfred J. Antoni and his wife Kathleen, and David A. Antoni and his wife Marlene; two daughters, Rosemarie Antoni and Lori-Ann Rinaldi and her husband Vincent; a sister, Philomena Simeone and five grandchildren. He was the brother of the late Michael Antoni.
His funeral will be held Thursday at 8 am, from the MACERONI Funeral Home, 1381 Smith St., North Providence, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 am in St. Augustine Church, 639 Mt. Pleasant Ave., Providence. VISITATION Wednesday 4-7 pm. Burial with Military Honors will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
