ALFRED DiCENSO, 88, of Providence, passed away Monday, July 24, 2006 at home. He was the husband of Margaret (Borrelli) DiCenso. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Cosmo and Elvira (Buontempo) DiCenso. He had worked as a Preservation Mechanic at Davisville Naval Station until retiring in 1976. He was a WWII Army Veteran.
Alfred was a kind and gentle man who loved to help people. He also loved boxing and gardening and most of all, he loved his grandchildren and his family. Besides his wife of 59 years, he leaves a son, David DiCenso and his wife Patti; a daughter, Patricia A. Mulligan; a brother, Guido DiCenso; a sister, Stella Ronzio and five beloved grandchildren, David M. and Michael T. DiCenso, Jack M, Kerri A. and Kenneth M. Mulligan. He was the brother of the late Edwin and Lawrence DiCenso and Eva Pantalano.
The funeral will be held Thursday at 9am, from the MACERONI Funeral Home, 1381 Smith St., North Providence, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in St. Augustine Church, Mt. Pleasant Ave, Providence. VISITATION Wednesday 5-8pm. Burial with Military Honors will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
