Alfred C. Sorbello

Alfred C. “Al” Sorbello, 79, formerly of Johnston, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 27, 2022, at the Grand Islander Center. He was the husband of the late Paula A. (Cerbo) Sorbello. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Charles and Adeline “Tillie” (Lautieri) Sorbello.

Al was a barber for Persia’s Haircutting Salon on Thayer St. in Providence for many years before retiring. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting and was a Life Member of the Smithfield Sportsman Club.

He is survived by his two sons, Gregory Sorbello and his wife, Susan and Matthew Sorbello; and two sisters, Paula Sorbello and Estelle Tobin.

His funeral will be held on Friday, December 2, 2022, at 9 a.m. from the Maceroni Funeral Home 1381 Smith St., North Providence, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Thomas Church, 65 Fruit Hill Ave., Providence. Interment will be in Highland Memorial Park, Johnston. Visitation Thursday from 4 -7 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations in Al’s memory may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
