Alice DeFusco (Podworny), 91, passed away Sunday, May 3, 2009 at Cherry Hill Manor. She was the beloved wife of the late Armando DeFusco. Born in Buffalo, NY, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Rose (Lehman) Podworny.
Alice had worked as a jewelry maker and dress maker before retiring. She loved sewing, reading and cooking but her greatest joy came from spending time with her family. She will always be remembered for her love, compassion, sense of humor and her strength and courage.
She leaves five grandchildren, Ronald DeFusco, Kenneth DeFusco, Regina Hampton, Rhonda DeFusco and Joseph Pompei; five great grandchildren, Lauren, Bobby, Jacqueline, Michael and Ashley; a daughter-in-law, Delores Pompei; and her nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Kenneth N. DeFusco and the sister of the late Frank Podedworny, Stanley Podworny, Stella Lewis, Anna Strembicki and Mary Helman.
Her funeral will be held Thursday at 8 a.m., from the MACERONI Funeral Home, 1381 Smith St., North Providence, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 a.m. in Our Lady of Grace Church, George Waterman Road, Johnston. VISITATION Wednesday 4-7 p.m. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
