Amalia “Molly” Marcello, 101, a lifelong resident of Providence, passed away Thursday, June 10, 2010 at Capital Ridge. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Sylvestro and Nicolina (Vertoni) Marcello.
Molly worked for Brown & Sharpe Manufacturing in the shipping department for many years. During WWII, she was a volunteer nurse's aid with the Red Cross.
She leaves four nephews, Ronald, Kenneth and Raymond Marcello and Raymond G. Rao; a niece, Barbara Reynolds; a great nephew, Raymond J. Rao and two great nieces, Karen Ridlen and Sherri-Ann Coolen. She was the sister of the late Carmino and Joseph Marcello and the aunt of the late Margaret Rao.
Her funeral will be held Monday at 8 a.m., from the Maceroni Funeral Home, 1381 Smith St. North Providence, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 a.m. in St. Anthony Church, 1413 Mineral Spring Ave., North Providence. Visitation Sunday 4-7 p.m. Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery, Pawtucket.
