Amelia Santopadre (Cipriano), 94, of Providence, passed away Sunday, July 19, 2009 at Our Lady of Fatima Hospital. She was the beloved wife of the late Armand Santopadre. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Carmela “Katie” (Gautieri) Cipriano.
Amelia was employed by Bulova Watch Company of Providence for 28 years. She was a volunteer worker at the RI Blood Center for 19 years and was twice chosen as “Volunteer of the Year”.
She leaves a daughter, Camille Bucci, seven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and a sister, Helen Cordeiro. She was the mother of the late Henry Santopadre and Louise Ogrodnik, the grandmother of the late David A. Santopadre and the sister of the late Gregory, Anthony, Michael and Ralph Cipriano, Mary Aliberti and Anna Giuliano.
Her funeral will be held Friday at 9 a.m., from the MACERONI Funeral Home, 1381 Smith St., North Providence, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Augustine Church, Mt. Pleasant Ave., Providence. VISITATION Thursday 5-8 p.m. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
