Anna R. Mercurio

Anna R. "Annie" Mercurio (Valletta), 92, of Johnston, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 1, 2021 surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of Valdo A. Mercurio for 70 years. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Arduino and Concetta (Mastromattei) Valletta.

She is survived by her daughter, Valerie Mercurio; her son, James Mercurio and his wife, Paula; a sister, Rosa Kazarian; four grandchildren, Melissa DiLorenzo, Michelle Cole, Jenelle Mercurio and Alana Mercurio; and her three great grandchildren, Joseph, Kaiya-Jo and James. She was the sister of the late Caesar, Alfred, Paul and John "Tut" Valletta, Jeanette "Jennie" Tortalano, Mary Romano and Carmella Caramante Cerce.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, February 6, 2021 at 9 a.m. in St. Robert Bellarmine Church, 1408 Atwood Ave., Johnston. Seating will be limited to 75 people, social distancing and face coverings will be strictly enforced. Burial will be private and visitation is respectfully omitted.
