Anna F. “Polly” Mollicone (Colantonio), 90, of Providence, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 13, 2008. She was the beloved wife of the late Joseph Mollicone, Sr. She is survived by her loving children and their spouses, Joseph Mollicone and Katy Hynes of Warwick, Jean Mollicone and Stephen Hametz of Providence and West Hazleton, PA. She leaves a sister, Teresa Guglielmetti; four grandchildren, Lisa and her husband Nicola Macchione, Christen Mollicone DiLuglio, Joseph Mollicone III and his wife, Colleen and Jonna and her husband, T. Christopher Angelone and eight great grandchildren. She was the sister of the late Olga Mitchell.

Mrs. Mollicone was a member of the Catholic Women’s League of Holy Ghost Church and the Women’s Youth League of Rhode Island. She was an active supporter of Boys Town of Italy. Anna was an avid bowler and an excellent cook. Her wine biscuit recipe was once published in the Providence Journal. She enjoyed hosting family dinners and always made sure everyone went home with a generous package of leftovers. She also liked to travel and made several trips to Europe and visited Alaska and Hawaii. She was loyal, steadfast and devoted to family and friends, Throughout her life, she was vigorous and energetic. Her cheerful disposition gained her many friends.

Her funeral will be held Thursday at 9am from the MACERONI Funeral Home, 1381 Smith St., North Providence with the celebration of a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in Holy Ghost Church, Knight St., Providence. Calling hours Wednesday 4-7pm. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Holy Ghost Church, 472 Atwells Ave. Providence, RI 02909 or a charity of your choice.
