Anna A. Picone, 95, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, November 30, 2021 surrounded by her loving family. She was the cherished wife of the late Vincent A. Picone. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Antonetta (Simone) Pompei.
While centering her life around her children, Anna worked for the Rhode Island Department of Children, Youth and Families and had also worked in retail for many years before retiring. A devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother, she loved her family dearly and especially enjoyed having them all together for homecooked Sunday dinners.
She is survived by her son, Vincent J. Picone and his wife Doreen; three daughters, Jo-Ann Iacobucci and her husband Ronald, Rosemary Colantonio and her husband Guy and Judy Penta and her husband James; her brother, John Pompei; seven grandchildren, Amy Reed and her husband Roland, Mark O'Connor and his wife Emilee, Vincent M. Picone and his wife Erin, Michael Picone and his wife Jackie, Nicholas Colantonio and his wife Shannon, Alicia Colantonio and Alexander Colantonio and nine great grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday, December 2, 2021 at 11:30 a.m. in St. Augustine Church, 639 Mt. Pleasant Ave., Providence. Visitation is respectfully omitted, and her burial will be private.
