Anna Rose (Esposito) Compagnone, 69, of Providence, entered into eternal life on Friday, April 21, 2023 surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of Salvatore Michael Compagnone, Jr. to whom she was married for 50 years. They were destined to be together, born on the same day, one year apart.
Anna was born in Providence to the late Virginia Veronica "Janette" (Ruggerio) and Benedetto Carmine "Benny" Esposito.
Anna was a graduate of Smithfield High School. She was a preschool teacher at Prime Time Preschool and a former employee of Pawtucket Credit Union where she worked for 16 years. Along with her husband Sal, Anna was part-owner of Lassa Associates, Allstate Builders, and Lor-Sher Apartments.
She loved planting and taking care of her garden, hosting cook-outs in her backyard, and spending time with friends and family, especially her grandchildren.
Anna was the devoted mother of Lori Ann Dunn, and her husband Edward, and Sheri Ann Colaluca, and her husband Angelo. She cherished her grandchildren: Anthony Thomas Bateman Jr., James Salvatore Bateman and his partner Trevor Sevajian, Edward Francis Dunn IV, Joseph Salvatore Edward Dunn and Erik Dunn. Anna is also survived by her father-in-law, Salvatore Michael Compagnone, Sr., brothers, Anthony Esposito and his wife Maureen, Buddy DelFarno and his wife Susan, and sister Bernadette Patrick, and her husband Danny.
Her funeral will be held on Wednesday, April 26, 2023 at 8:30 a.m. from the Maceroni Funeral Home, 1381 Smith St., North Providence, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in Sacred Heart Church, 118 Taunton Ave, East Providence. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Donations may be made in Anna's memory to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
