Anthony Carl Lisa, 81, died peacefully on Wednesday, August 3, 2022 at The HopeHealth Hulitar Hospice Center in Providence, Rhode Island, surrounded by his family.
He was born August 25, 1940 in Providence to Sylvestro and Tolinda (Russo) Lisa. He graduated from LaSalle Academy in 1958 and attended Bryant College, where he earned Bachelors of Science degrees in both Business Administration (1962) and Business Education (1967). He later earned a Masters of Science at the University of Rhode Island in 1972.
An educator for over 30 years, he taught business education, accounting, taxation, and computer science to thousands of Rhode Island students at Cranston West High School, Johnson & Wales College, and the Community College of Rhode Island. He also served for nearly a decade as the assistant principal of Western Hills Middle School before retiring from the Cranston School Department in 2000. He was also heavily involved in his community, contributing his time and talents to North Providence West Little League, Northern Rhode Island Junior Hockey, and various professional associations related to secondary school education.
He celebrated his 55th wedding anniversary earlier this year, having married Jacqueline Angela Manni on April 15, 1967. Family was always a priority as they raised two sons and he was always cheering them and his grandchildren in school, sports, and life. Other passions included gardening, travel, and rooting for New England sports teams.
He is survived by his wife, Jackie; his son Anthony and his wife, Susan (Vissers) and their children, Theodore, Charlotte, and Benjamin; and his son, Matthew and his wife, Leslie Dickey and their sons, James and Cristofano.
Anthony’s funeral will be held on Wednesday, August 10, 2022 at 8:30 a.m. from the Maceroni Funeral Home, 1381 Smith St., North Providence, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at at 9:30 a.m. in Mary Mother of Mankind Church, 25 Fourth St., North Providence. Interment will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 9, 2022 from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. The family asks in lieu of flowers that memorial contributions be made to the Cancer Foundation of your choice.
