We are saddened to announce the peaceful passing of Anthony "Marco" Marcolivio, 65, of North Providence, on Sunday, August 5, in the arms of his wife and in the presence of family. He is the husband of Terry (Palombo) Marcolivio. In September, they would have celebrated 48 years of unconditional friendship and love, 37 years of marriage. Anthony was born on June 5, 1953, the "# 1 son" of Julio and the late Yolanda (Vitale) Marcolivio of North Providence. Marco moved from Providence to the Marieville section of North Providence at age 8. He graduated from North Providence High School in 1971 and from Bryant University in 1975. He tried his hand at many different things-working at Julio's Italian Family Restaurant and the Cranston Library. He was the proprietor of The Fruitworks in Providence and for the last 20 years was an agent at the RI Bureau of Child Support. He leaves behind many wonderful friends made throughout these years. Marco was a very intelligent and kind man who had interests that were many and varied. He loved his home, cooking for family and friends(seldom repeating the exact same recipe), concocting his famous cocktails, music, reading, art, travelling, museums and sports as a participant and spectator. He cheered on his New York Football Giants, Yankees and P.C. basketball Friars. As his friends and Terry will readily attest to, Marco never shied away from a lively and sometimes loud debate! Marco also leaves behind the rest of his precious family: brothers Michael Marcolivio and his wife Cheryl of Smithfield, Robert Marcolivio and his wife Kimberly of Providence, his sister Lisa Fargnoli and her husband Anthony of North Providence, his brother Tom Palombo, Esq. and his wife Kathy of South Kingstown and his sister Mary Palombo and her husband Mark Jones of Warwick. Marco adored his many nephews and nieces: Greg, Rebecca, Zach and Morgan Lariviere, Robert and Isabelle Marcolivio, Vanessa Marcolivio, Nate and Nick Jones, Mia and Sara Palombo and Paul Godin. He also left many dearly loved Godchildren and friends(you all know who you are!) Calling hours will be held on Friday, August 17, 2018 from 4-8 PM at Maceroni Funeral Home, 1381 Smith Street, North Providence. Marco's burial will be private. Kindly omit flowers. Donations to either of his favorite charities would be appreciated: American Heart Association, Gift Processing Center, PO Box 78851, Phoenix, AZ 85062-8851 or Smile Train (free surgeries for children with cleft palates), PO Box 96231, Washington, DC 20090-6231. Be sure to include "In memory of Anthony Marcolivio". May Marco rest peacefully in eternity.
