Anthony B. Pesaturo, 74, of Providence, passed away Sunday, December 30, 2018 at his home surrounded by his family following a valiant battle with cancer. Anthony was the former owner and president of Alpha Research Associates, Inc., widely recognized for its accurate political polling and prediction of election results. He sold the firm in 1994, but continued to work as a consultant and trusted advisor, even during his illness up to and including the 2018 General Election. In addition, he was an avid and thoughtful commentator on government affairs. He had an uncanny knowledge of history which he was always willing to share with anyone who was willing to listen. He had an outrageous sense of humor which made him unique and special. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Anthony and Theresa Gemma Pesaturo. He was the loving father of Kelly E. Carello and her husband Greg of Smithfield and Gregory Pesaturo and his wife, Christine Parker Pesaturo of New Canaan, CT. Gregory & Kelly were his greatest legacy filled with love and sacrifice. He was also the proud grandfather of Matthew and Mackenzie Carello and Brady and Owen Pesaturo. He is survived by his brother Frederick Pesaturo and his wife, Deborah of Cumberland and his sister, Eileen Persechino and her husband, Ernest, Sr. of North Providence Anthony leaves behind his longtime friend, Nancy Beattie, nephews Cory Pesaturo, Ernest Persechino Jr. and niece, Linda D'Ordine Morang. He is also survived by his former wife Gaele Anderson and her husband Charles of Fayetteville, GA. He was the brother of the late Anne Pesaturo as well uncle to the late Sherry Persechino. Anthony received a Master's Degree in Public Administration from the University of Rhode Island. He was a proud graduate of Rhode Island College where he earned his undergraduate degree in History and Political Science (Cum Laude). His funeral will be held Saturday, January 5, 2019 at 9 a.m. from the Maceroni Funeral Home, 1381 Smith St., North Providence, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Pius V Church, Eaton St., Providence. Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery, Pawtucket.
