ANTONIO GONZALES,SR., 54, of Providence, passed away Saturday, May 5, 2007 at home. Born in Taylor, Texas, he was the son of Amelia (Gonzales) Fuentes and the step-son of the late Jose Fuentes, Sr.
Antonio was currently working in maintenance at the VA Medical Center in Providence. He coached Elmwood Little League and was an avid bowler receiving numerous trophies. A Navy Veteran of Vietnam, he received the National Defense Service Medal. Besides his mother, he is survived by a son, Antonio Gonzales, Jr and a daughter, Jeanne Nicholson; his Fiancé, Bridget Marcoccio; five brothers, five sisters and six grandchildren, Michael, Tyler, Katarina, Thomas, Courtni and Brandi.
His funeral will be held Wednesday at 9am from the Maceroni Funeral Home, 1381 Smith St. North Providence, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in Holy Ghost Church, Knight St., Providence. Visitation Tuesday 5-8pm.
