Armando A.Ferrucci, 71, of North Providence and Narragansett, passed away Sunday, September 28, 2008, at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston. He was the beloved husband of Helen (O’Malley) Ferrucci for 35 years.
Born in Tora, Provincia di Caserta, Italy, he was the son of the late Tommaso and Luisa (D’Elia) Ferrucci. Armando earned a B.S. in Chemistry in 1960 from Providence College and an M.B.A. in Business Administration with honors in 1980 from Bryant University. He was employed first as a chemist for the Providence Water Supply Board and then for 30 years by the Narragansett Electric Company. He was also a certified tax preparer and financial planner for 25 years. Although Armando emigrated from Italy at age 12 in 1948, he retained a knowledgeable and profound love of Italian culture, particularly music. Moreover, he was an active communicant of St. Anthony Parish.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his loving children: his son Thomas A. Ferrucci and his wife Lisa of East Providence and his daughter Elena L. Ferrucci of North Providence. He also leaves his brother, Antonio Ferrucci and his wife Esther of Santa Barbara, California, his sister, Maria C. Di Censo and her husband Romeo of North Providence and his two beloved grandchildren: Kayla L.M. and Marc T. Ferrucci of East Providence.
His funeral will be held on Thursday, October 2, 2008 at 8 a.m. from the Maceroni Funeral Home, 1381 Smith Street, North Providence, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 a.m. in St. Anthony Roman Catholic Church on Mineral Spring Avenue, North Providence. Calling hours are on Wednesday, October 1, 2008, from 4 to 8 p.m.
