Assunta "Susie" M. DiOrio (Lisi), Centenarian, of North Providence, passed away Tuesday, September 28, 2021. She was the beloved wife of the late Luigi "Zip" DiOrio. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Salvatore and Clementina (Viti) Lisi.
Susie was employed in the jewelry industry before retiring. She was proud of her Italian American heritage and enjoyed growing up with her family and friends in the Federal Hill section of Providence. She loved to cook and bake traditional Italian foods.
Susie's greatest joy in life was raising her family. A devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, she is survived by her children, Paula Vigneau and Louis DiOrio and his wife, Megan Mihara-DiOrio; grandchildren, Michael DiOrio, Charles and Amanda Vigneau; great granddaughter, Sagemarie DiOrio; brothers and sisters-in-law; nieces, nephews and a beautiful extended family and friends. She was the mother of the late Alfred DiOrio and the sister of the late Anthony, Salvatore, Frank, Domenic, Louis, Thomas, Louise and Josephine Lisi, Marie Macaruso, Pauline Ciccio, Robert Rossi, Caroline DeFusco and Victoria Ciorlano.
Her funeral will be held Monday, October 4, 2021 at 10 a.m., from the MACERONI FUNERAL HOME, 1381 Smith St., North Providence, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in St. Anthony Church, 1413 Mineral Spring Ave., North Providence. VISITATION Sunday 4-7 p.m. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
