ASSUNTA “SUE” (MONTELLA) LISI, 85, of North Providence, passed away Tuesday, November 17, 2009. She was the beloved wife of Frank Lisi for 63 years. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Ralph and Natalina (Iacavone) Montella, Sr.
Mrs. Lisi had worked as a crossing guard for the City of Providence for 28 years before retiring.
A devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, she is also survived by her daughter, Lorraine Lisi; two brothers, Ralph Montella, Jr. and John Montella; five sisters, Alessandra Cozzolino, Laura Martino, Palmina Ferrara, Vincenza Toro and Olga Dean; two grandchildren, Albert R. Noviello, III and Wayne Lisi; and two great grandchildren, Justin and Chelsea. She was the mother of the late Kathleen Noviello and the sister of the late Evelyn Olson, Angelina Russo, Angelo Montella and Salvatore Montella.
Her funeral will be held Friday at 10 a.m., from the MACERONI Funeral Home, 1381 Smith St., North Providence, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in St. Anthony Church, 1413 Mineral Spring Ave., North Providence. VISITATION Thursday 4-8 p.m. Burial will be in Saint Francis Cemetery, Pawtucket. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to The National Kidney Foundation, 85 Astor Ave, Suite 2, Norwood, MA 02062.
