Bennett J. Urwin, Jr., 66, of Johnston, passed away Wednesday, May 28, 2008 at Our Lady of Fatima Hospital in North Providence. He was the beloved husband of Geraldine (Kansiewicz) Urwin. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Bennett J. Urwin, Sr. and Rose (Carreau) Urwin and the step-son of the late Albert “Tex” Bernard.
Bennett had been a machinist for Illuminating Concepts and Engineering for 30 years, retiring in 2004. Since 2005 he had worked at the North Smithfield Gulf Station.
Besides his wife, he leaves two daughters, Donna L. Laferriere and Dawn R. Simonelli; a brother, James Urwin; a sister Jean Williams and eight grandchildren.
Visitation at the Maceroni Funeral Home, 1381 Smith St., North Providence, Saturday, May 31st from 4-6pm. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service on Saturday, June 7th at 11am in Faith Baptist Church, 765 Commonwealth Ave., Warwick. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, 931 Jefferson Blvd, Warwick, RI 02886.
