Carmen R. Ianniello (Laorenza),95, of Johnston, passed away Wednesday, January 2, 2008 at Briarcliffe Manor. She was the beloved wife of the late John Ianniello. Born in Lawrence, Mass., she was the daughter of the late Sabatino and Onesta ( Grande) Laorenza.
Carmen had been a jewelry worker for W.R. Cobb Company and various other local jewelry firms. She was a well known baker whose cookies were served at numerous weddings, showers and birthday parties. She was also a volunteer at the Hope Senior Center in Providence.
She was the step-mother of the late Joseph Ianniello and is survived by her daughter-in-law, Alice Ianniello; a brother, Silvio Laorenza and his wife Freida; a sister, Merinda Caliento and her husband Samuel; two grandchildren, John and Michael Ianniello and two great grandchildren, Christina and Michael Ianniello. She was the sister of the late Domenic Laorenza, Antonetta Fehrenbach, Rose DeAngelis and Olympia Laorenza.
Her funeral will be held Tuesday at 9am, from the MACERONI Funeral Home, 1381 Smith St., North Providence, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Brayton Ave., Providence. VISITATION Monday 4-7pm. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. In lieu of flowers, donations in her name may be made to Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church Memorial Fund, 12 Spruce St., Providence, RI 02903.
