CARMINE COTOIA, 82, of Cranston, passed away Tuesday, October 24, 2006, at Our Lady of Fatima Hospital in North Providence. He was the beloved husband of Anna (Califano) Cotoia. Born in Johnston, he was the son of the late Domenico and Antonetta (Bianchi) Cotoia.

Carmine had worked in Construction for 40 years. He retired from Forte Brothers Construction in 1989 and had previously worked for the former Campanella and Cardi Construction Co. He was an Army Veteran of WWII. He was a member of I.U.O.E. Local 57 and was a parishioner of St. Bartholomew Church in Providence. He took pride in his yard and loved to garden and cultivate plants and vegetables.

Besides his wife, he leaves his beloved daughter, Valarie Cotoia. He was the brother of the late Andrew, Michael and Angelo Cotoia, Margaret Mollicone, Favorita Manera and Phyllis Del Padre.

The funeral will be held Friday at 9am, from the MACERONI Funeral Home, 1381 Smith St., North Providence, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in St. Bartholomew Church, Laurel Hill Ave., Providence. VISITATION Thursday 5-8pm. Burial with Military Honors will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to American Cancer Society, 222 Richmond St., Providence, R.I. 02903, or to R.I. Blood Center, 405 Promenade St. Providence, R.I. 02908.
