Catherine L. Accetturo

Catherine L. Accetturo (DiOrio), 81, of North Providence, passed away Thursday, February 26, 2009 at Our Lady of Fatima Hospital. She was the wife of Emilio Accetturo for 57 years. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Alfred and Palmina (Sbardella) DiOrio.

Catherine lived in Providence throughout her youth and married life, until she and her husband moved to North Providence. She was a supervisor for Vargas Manufacturing until her retirement. She will be long remembered for her tireless devotion to her husband, her family, including many cousins, and to her friends and neighbors.

Besides her husband, she leaves four brothers, Alfred DiOrio, Jr., David DiOrio, Edward DiOrio and Ronald DiOrio and many nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly. She was the sister of the late Richard DiOrio, Louie DiOrio, Catherine DiOrio and Connie Folcarelli.

Her funeral will be held Monday at 9a.m. from the Maceroni Funeral Home, 1381 Smith St., North Providence with a Mass of Christian Burial 10 a.m. in Holy Ghost Church, Knight St., Providence. Visitation Sunday 4-7 p.m. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
