Cheryl Lee Cimini, 70, of Cumberland, passed away peacefully at Our Lady of Fatima Hospital on Thursday, March 24, 2022. Born in Pawtucket, she was the loving and devoted wife of Laurie Alviti and the youngest child of the late Vincent & Thelma (Thornhill) Cimini. She was the sister of Vincent & Carole (Smith) Cimini of Greenville and Carol and the late Donald Lescault of Burrillville.
Cheryl was a dedicated, warm, and loving daughter, sister, aunt, wife and friend to many.
She leaves behind two stepsons, Keith & Kim (Silverto) Alviti & Erik & Stephanie (Choquette) Alviti, a granddaughter, Autumn Rose, a grandson due in July, and was the beloved aunt of 18 nieces and nephews.
Cheryl was a graduate of Pawtucket West High School from which she began a successful career in the IT field. Early in her employment at Motorola she received several awards for outstanding performance and volunteerism. Cheryl continued along her IT communications journey as a Verizon Fios Technician from 2006 right up to her passing.
Cheryl had an incredible work ethic and showed great empathy throughout her lifetime. She was an active member in the AA recovery community touching many hearts over 34 years of sobriety. In addition, she was also a proud member of the LGBTQ community. Cheryl participated in many fundraising events to support and benefit those in her community. She was beloved by many and will always be remembered as someone who gave from her heart in a variety of ways to improve the lives of others.
In lieu of visitation, a celebration of Cheryl’s life will be held soon on a date and at a place to be announced.
