DORIS M. (MARTINEAU) PICARD, 85, of Smithfield, passed away Tuesday, March 8, 2016 at home. She was the former wife of the late Robert E. Picard. Born in Smithfield, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Dora (Cote) Martineau.
Mrs. Picard was an administrative assistant at Channel 12 News before retiring. Previously she had worked for Auto Parts Inc.
She is survived by her two cherished daughters, Gail Sarli and Nancy Schreib and her husband Chester “Clark”; a brother, Charles J. Martineau; a brother in law, Raymond Monfils; three grandchildren, Heather Moran and her husband Billy, Chris Schreib and his wife Jillian and Tim Schreib; and two great grandsons, Trey Schreib and Connor Moran. She was the mother in law of the late Anthony Sarli and sister of the late Claire Monfils and Joan Martineau.
Her funeral will be held Monday, March 14, 2016 at 9 a.m. from the MACERONI FUNERAL HOME, 1381 Smith St., North Providence, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Thomas Church, 65 Fruit Hill Ave., Providence 02909. Interment will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
