Dorothy Cappuccilli (Burns), 89, of Cranston, formerly of Herschel St. in Providence for 55 years, died Monday, February 18, 2008 at home surrounded by her family. She was the beloved wife of the late Ferdinand A. 'Fred' Cappuccilli.
Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Philip and Helen (Hodson) Burns.
Dorothy was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She had worked as a receptionist for the Controllers Office in the Providence City Hall for ten years before retiring in 1986. She was also a member of the St. Thomas Church Women's Club.
She is survived by a son, Joseph Cappuccilli and his wife Carolyn; a daughter, Carolyn A. Wentworth and her husband Paul; a sister, Helen M. Carlin, five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was the sister of the late Philip B. Burns, Jr.
Her funeral will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. from the MACERONI Funeral Home, 1381 Smith St., North Providence followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in St. Thomas Church, Fruit Hill Ave., Providence. VISITATION Wednesday 5-8 p.m. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
