Edward C. Petrucci, 88, of Johnston, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, October 5, 2024 surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of the late Barbara (Corsi) Petrucci. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Eduardo and Elena (Caruolo) Petrucci.
Ed worked for New England Floors for many years before starting his own business and was a member of Carpenters Local Union 330. He was in the flooring industry for over 60 years. He was a U.S. Marines Veteran of the Korean War.
Ed found joy in the simple pleasures of life, often spending his weekends casting lines by the ocean, perfecting his bowling score, and sharing laughter around the card table with friends and family. His thrill of the casinos was matched only by his passion for tackling daily crossword puzzles. Ed’s vibrant spirit and warm smile will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege to know him.
A loving and devoted father, grandfather and great-grandfather, he is survived by his five children, Patricia Malo, Carla Tartaglia and her husband David, Edward Petrucci, Brenda Rooney and her husband Christopher and Michael Petrucci and his caretaker Brenda; nine grandchildren, Kenji Petrucci, Michiya Petrucci, Perry Petrucci, Erika Rooney, Christopher “CJ” Rooney, Jr. and Joseph Malo; and five great-grandchildren. He was the father of the late Raymond Hammond. He was part of a family with six siblings.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Ed’s Life on Thursday, October 10, 2024 at 11 a.m. in the Maceroni Funeral Home, 1381 Smith St., North Providence. Interment will follow in Highland Memorial Park, Johnston. Visitation will be held Wednesday, October 9, 2024 from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in Ed's memory may be made to: American Cancer Society or American Heart Association.
