Elizabeth Zampini (Cerce), 92, of Providence, passed away Friday, April 24, 2009 at Our Lady of Fatima Hospital. She was the wife of the late Guido C. Zampini. They had been married for 52 years. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Nicholas and Maria (Perrotta) Cerce.
Elizabeth worked as an airplane parts inspector at Quonset Naval Air Base. She had also worked for the Paramount Greeting Card Company, for Uncas Manufacturing as a jewelry inspector and for the GE Base Works as an inspector. She devoted her life to her family and her gift was her ability to make people laugh.
She is survived by two sons, Anthony M. Zampini and Robert E. Zampini and his wife Mary; a sister, Claire Antonelli and two grandchildren, Katie and Rachel Zampini. She was the sister of the late Anthony, Nicholas and Michael Cerce, Rose Bianchino, Eve O’Brien and Tina Loffredo.
Her funeral will be held Wednesday at 9 a.m., from the Maceroni Funeral Home, 1381 Smith St., North Providence, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Holy Ghost Church, Knight St., Providence. Visitation Tuesday 5-8 p.m. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
