Ernest S. Persechino, Sr., 77, of North Providence, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 4, 2024. He was the beloved husband of Eileen (Pesaturo) Persechino for 54 years. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Salvatore and Carmella (Maratta) Persechino.
Ernie was the owner and operator of multiple auto dealerships over the years, most notably - Capital Car Center in Johnston for many years, before retiring. A devout catholic, he promoted the Celebration of Divine Mercy at St. Pius V Church, and the Cathedral of Sts. Peter & Paul for 19 years. He also served as a Eucharistic Minister at the Cathedral of Sts. Peter & Paul and St. Pius V Church. He was a loving husband, father, brother and grandfather.
Above all he will be remembered for his selflessness, generosity, compassion and pure love for his family and friends. His immense love of family was truly unwavering. He filled so many lives with laughter and his presence brought a smile to all who knew him.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Ernest S. Persechino, Jr. and his wife Barbara; two grandchildren, Camille and Claudia; a brother, Kenneth Persechino, his wife Julie; and his sister, Lucille Tikoian. He was the father of the late Sherry Persechino.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, February 10, 2024 at 10 a.m. in St. Pius V Church, Eaton St., Providence. Interment will follow in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. Visitation is respectfully omitted. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mr. Persechino’s memory may be made to: St. Pius Church.
