Ernest R. Singleton, Sr., 66, of Warwick, passed away Tuesday, January 20, 2009 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Barbara (Evangelista) Singleton and the late Christine (Binkowski) Singleton. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Roderick G. and Jane (Murray) Singleton.
Ernest had been a truck driver for Teamsters Local 251. He had also worked as a furniture mover for Greenes Moving and Storage and for Liberty Furniture.
Besides his wife, he leaves a son, Ernest R. Singleton, Jr.; a daughter, Cheryl Perillo, a step-son, James Mulholland and a step-daughter, Carol Plante; a brother, Robert Singleton; three sisters, Pauline Singleton, Jane Pichette and Ida Proulx and eight grandchildren including his cherished granddaughter, Krystyne Perillo. He was the brother of the late Raymond, Roderick G., Jr., Charles, Henry J., Sr. and Pearl Singleton.
A Funeral Service will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. in the Maceroni Funeral Home, 1381 Smith St., North Providence. Visitation Friday 5-7 p.m. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
