Ethel G. Lough, 91, of North Providence, passed away peacefully on September 2, 2022 with her family by her side. She was the wife of the late Ira J. Lough. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Grace (Barricelli) Petrone.
Ethel earned her nursing degree from Our Lady of Fatima Hospital and worked at the former Lying-In Hospital in Providence and went on to spend her remaining career helping others in local healthcare facilities.
A loving and devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, she is survived by her five children, Colleen Duva, David Lough and his wife Ellen, Robert Lough and his wife Kimberly, Ira L. Lough and his wife Debra, Michael Lough and his fiancée Cheryl; twelve grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. She was the sister of the late Flavia Phillips. Ethel lived with a passion for life. Her laugh was contagious and uplifting to all in her presence. She enjoyed her Boston Red Sox, dancing, an 'occasional' trip to the casino and most of all spending time with her family.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, September 9, 2022 at 11 A.M. St. Augustine Church, 639 Mount Pleasant Ave., Providence. Inurnment will follow in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. Wake services are respectfully omitted. A special thank you to the amazing staff at Riverview Healthcare Center in Coventry.
