EUGENE D. PISTACCHIO, 71, of North Providence, passed away Friday, May 4, 2007 at Our Lady of Fatima Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Shirley (Petrone) Pistacchio. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Nicandro and Marie (Cambio) Pistacchio.
Eugene was a pharmacist and had owned and operated Community Pharmacy in Centerdale for 20 years. He was currently employed by Brooks Pharmacy in Warwick. A graduate of the University of RI School of Pharmacy, he was a member of the RI Pharmacy Association. He had also served as a volunteer fireman with the Lymansville Fire Department and was awarded a lifetime membership.
Besides his wife of 46 years, he leaves two sons, Robert Pistacchio and Alan Pistacchio and his wife Sandra; two daughters, Paula Vitulli and her husband John and Pamela Pistacchio; a brother Michael Parish and two grandchildren, Erika and Nicandro. He was the brother of the late Vincent and Rudolph Pistacchio.
His funeral will be held Tuesday at 9am, from the MACERONI Funeral Home, 1381 Smith St., North Providence, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in St. Thomas Church, Fruit Hill Ave., Providence. VISITATION Monday 5-8pm. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Make-A-Wish Foundation of RI, 757 Park Avenue, Cranston, RI 02910.
