Eva-Ann Geoppo (Johnson), 58, a resident of Providence for the past 22 years, passed away Monday, April 16, 2007, at home. She was the beloved wife of Frank C. Geoppo. Born in Chelsea, Mass., she was the daughter of the late Carl B. Johnson, Sr. and Elizabeth P. (Vayda) Johnson.
Eva-Ann had owned Little Raven Contracting of Providence. She was a community activist and helped organize the Community Police in Providence in the late 80’s. She was a member of DARE and was on the PARA Commission. She was also a member of the RI Indian Council and a lifetime member of the ACLU and was one of the founding members of the Providence Daredevil Football Association which is affiliated with Pop Warner Football.
Besides her husband of 40 years, she is survived by two sons, Stephen Geoppo and Frank Geoppo and his wife Paulette; a daughter, Eva Geoppo; a brother, Stephen Johnson and his wife Pamela; two sisters, Queenie Micielli Almstrom and Ann Swiderski and her husband Michael; eight grandchildren and a dear friend, Ivette Cedeno. She was the mother of the late Elizabeth Geoppo and the sister of the late Carl B. Johnson, Jr.
Her funeral will be held Saturday at 9am from the MACERONI Funeral Home, 1381 Smith St., North Providence, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in St. Teresa Church, Manton Ave., Providence. VISITATION Friday 5-8pm. Please omit flowers.
