Flavia “Flo” C. Phillips (Petrone), 81, of North Providence, passed away Friday, May 21, 2010 at Hopkins Manor. She was the beloved wife of the late Alfred D. Phillips, Sr. Born in Providence, a daughter of the late Anthony and Grace (Barricelli) Petrone, she lived in North Providence for 40 years before moving to Pompano Beach, Florida where she lived for 4 years before moving back to North Providence.
Flavia graduated from Mt. Pleasant High in 1946. She worked as a seamstress for many years and for Child’s Jewelry Company of North Providence and Crown Optical of Smithfield.
She leaves four sons, Anthony Phillips (former High Sheriff of Prov. County RI/ Ret. Det. N. Prov. PD) and his wife Norma of Pompano Beach, FL, Alfred D. Phillips, Jr. and his wife Debra of Wesley Chapel, FL; John G. Phillips and Joseph S. Phillips both of North Providence; a sister, Ethel Lough of North Providence; seven grandchildren, Anthony C. Phillips, Kristen Phillips-Black and her husband Brandon, Meagan Phillips, Michael J. Phillips, Samantha Phillips, Ryan Phillips and Daniel Phillips; two great grandsons, Xavier Black and Michael Phillips and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Visitation Wednesday morning from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Maceroni Funeral Home, 1381 Smith St., North Providence, followed by a Memorial Funeral Service at 11 a.m. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Odyssey Hospice of RI, 2374 Post Rd., Suite 206, Warwick, RI 02886.
