Florence Z. Buco (Zambarano), 89, of North Providence, passed away, Tuesday, August 10, 2010 at Epoch Senior Living. She was the wife of the late Joseph Buco. Born in North Providence, she was the daughter of the late Sylvester and Maria (DiStefano) Zambarano.
Florence had worked as a cashier for the former First National Stores for twenty years before retiring in 1979. She was a member of the Sal Mancini Senior Center, Maple Gardens Association and St. Ann Sodality at Our Lady of Grace Church. Her greatest love was entertaining and cooking for her family and friends and cheering on her beloved Patriots and Red Sox.
A loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother, she is survived by her two daughters, Sylvia Lundell and her husband Richard and Paula Torvi and her husband Alex; two grandchildren, Laurie Nitardy and her husband John and Lynne Ball and her husband Doug; four great grandchildren, Madeline, Tucker, Mason and Lilly; and her brother, Ernest Zambarano. She was the sister of the late William, Arthur, Adolph, Joseph, Lorenzo and Thomas Zambarano, Susan Ottaviano and Pauline Ethier.
Her funeral will be held Friday at 10 a.m. from the MACERONI Funeral Home, 1381 Smith St., North Providence with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in Our Lady of Grace Church, George Waterman Rd., Johnston. Visitation Thursday 5-8 p.m. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
