Frances M. Vaillancourt

Frances Marie (Hamilton) Vaillancourt, 92 of North Providence, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 13, 2023, surrounded by her loving family. Fran was the daughter of the late Francis and Mary Ellen (Rogers) Hamilton. She was the wife of the late Ret. Lt. John F. Vaillancourt, NPPD, and mother of the late Ret. John F. Vaillancourt, II, NPFD.

Fran is survived by her son, Steve Vaillancourt; daughters, Karen Vaillancourt, Sheila Vaillancourt, and Kristen Orrall and her husband Karl. She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren, who all knew her as “Gigi”, Ryan and Caitlin DeResta, and Konnor and Kolin Orrall. 

Fran was a nurse for many years and taught nursing at the Providence Lying-In Hospital, now known as Woman & Infants Hospital. She was an avid reader, master knitter and crafting guru. She was incredibly funny and sassy, but most of all a loving and devoted mother and grandmother.

Her funeral service will be held Friday, October 20, 2023, at 10am in the Maceroni Funeral Home, 1381 Smith St., North Providence. Interment will follow at Notre Dame Cemetery, Pawtucket. Visitation will take place Thursday, from 4pm - 7-pm. Donations in her memory may be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children, Attn: Office of Development, 2900 Rocky Point Drive Tampa, FL  33607.
