Frank Bucci, Sr., 85, of Johnston, passed away Sunday, January 27, 2008 at Rhode Island Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Emilia (Mignanelli) Bucci. Born in Johnston, he was the son of the late Peter and Nicolina (Santucci) Bucci.
He had worked as an Operating Engineer for Local 57B of the International Union of Operating Engineers for 32 years. He was a WWII Army Veteran serving in the Azores and later in the South Pacific and was a communicant of St. Robert Bellarmine Church.
Frank was a loving husband and father and a devoted grandfather. Besides his wife of 55 years, he leaves three daughters, Joyce J. Pascucci and her husband, Reno, Linda J. Markey and her husband, Tom and Cynthia D. Rico and her husband Russ. He was the father of the late Frank Bucci, Jr. He also leaves a brother, Amadee Bucci; a sister Susan Cerroni and five grandchildren, Bethany J. Whiffin, Kristine A. Pascucci, Jessica L. Markey and Kathryn E. and John M. Rico. He was the brother of the late John and Albert Bucci, Rose Parrillo, Anna Grinchell, Mafalda Coppola and Viola Casey.
His funeral will be held Thursday at 9am from the MACERONI Funeral Home, 1381 Smith St., North Providence, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in St. Robert Bellarmine Church, Atwood Ave., Johnston. VISITATION Wednesday 5-8pm. Entombment with Military Honor will be in Our Risen Christ Mausoleum, St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to St. Robert Bellarmine Food Closet, 1804 Atwood Ave., Johnston, RI 02919.
