Frederick J. Willis, Jr., “Fred”, of North Providence, passed away Thursday, June 12, 2008 at Rhode Island Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Elaine (Laurenza) Willis. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Frederick J. and Katherine (Burke) Willis.
Fred was a retired Air Force veteran. A graduate of Central High School and Bryant College, he was a Past Exalted Ruler of the Smithfield Elks Lodge 2359.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Melissa A. Willis; a grandson, Matthew Frenze and two nephews, Arthur and Stephen Lariviere.
His funeral will be held Monday at 9am, from the MACERONI Funeral Home, 1381 Smith St., North Providence, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in St. Augustine Church, 639 Mt. Pleasant Ave., Providence. VISITATION Sunday 4-7 pm. Burial will be in Highland Memorial Park, Johnston. In lieu of flowers, donations in his name may be made to the American Heart Association, 222 Richmond St. Providence, RI 02903.
