George J. Lester

George J. Lester, 82, of North Providence, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 12, 2015. He was the beloved husband of Helen (Abrams) Lester. They were happily married for 55 years. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late George H. and Nora (Fogarty) Lester.

George spent his career in manufacturing, served in the Army and loved life. He had the ability of making everyone smile with his kindness and love. He will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him.

Besides his wife, he is survived by his loving daughter, Kimberly Walsh; a sister, Mary Fiore and cherished grandsons, Nathan and Ryan Walsh. He was the brother of the late, Edith Olsen and Nora Lester.

Visiting hours will be held Tuesday (MORNING) August 18, 2015 from 8:30am to 9:30am at the MACERONI Funeral Home, 1381 Smith St., North Providence, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am at St. Augustine Church, 639 Mount Pleasant Ave., Providence. Burial with Military Honors will follow at RI Veterans Cemetery, Exeter.
