Gilbert J. Almeida

Gilbert J. Almeida, 75, of North Providence, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 28, 2020.  He was the beloved husband of Emily (Mroz) Almeida for 29 years.  Born in New Bedford, MA, he was the son of the late Gilbert and Mary (Costa) Almeida. Gil was a firefighter on the New Bedford Fire Department for 28 years before retiring.  In addition to his wife, he is survived by four sons, Michael, Scott, Barry and Brian Almeida; his daughter, Cheryl Almeida; his brother, Michael Almeida; two sisters, Patricia Fredette and Linda Pierce; four grandchildren, Chad, Jake, Shawn and Jacklyn Almeida; and two stepsons, Joseph W. Bellini and James H. Bellini, Jr; and three great grandchildren.  He was the brother of the late Shirley Arenault.  Consistent with precautions due to the Coronavirus, Gil's funeral and burial will be private.
