Gloria Celia Geremia

Gloria Celia Geremia, 77, of North Providence, passed away on Wednesday, July 26, 2023 at Our Lady of Fatima Hospital. She was the beloved wife of Anthony W. Geremia for 51 years. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Aurelio and Celia (DiNofrio) Petrocchi.

 

A talented and dedicated educator, Gloria was the Mathematics Department Head at Riverside Junior High School for 34 years before retiring. Following her retirement, she taught at St. Mary’s Bay View Academy and continued to work as a substitute teacher, tutor, and counselor. Gloria loved animals and the ocean, and especially enjoyed spending time with her family and many friends. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother and aunt.

 

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Anthony A. Geremia-Smylie and his wife Shemaleiah, and Gina Geremia and her partner Joshua Correia. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.  She was the sister of the late Gaetano Impagliazzo, Fortuna Sciarra and Dolores Loiselle.

 

Visitation will be held Wednesday, August 2, 2023, from 4 p.m. – 7 p.m. in the Maceroni Funeral Home 1381 Smith St., North Providence. Burial will be private.
