Gloria Melino, 92, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, April 27, 2024 surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of the late John Melino. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Mary (Maggiacomo) Viti.
A devout Catholic, Gloria was a faithful parishioner of St. Adalbert’s Church. She was also very active in the Providence and Cranston Senior Centers, where she loved playing BINGO with her friends and crocheting. She enjoyed lunch dates with her nieces and her Saturday’s getting her hair done, and then Twin River Casino with her son Danny.
She is survived by her two sons, John D. Melino and Dan J. Melino and his wife Gina; 8 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. She was the mother of the late Dino Melino and Donna Palmer and the sister of the late Anthony Viti, Lewis Viti, Connie Della Grotta and Marie Montecalvo.
Her funeral will be held on Thursday, May 2, 2024 at 9a.m. from the Maceroni Funeral Home, 1381 Smith St., North Providence, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Adalbert’s Church, 866 Atwells Ave., Providence. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 4-7 p.m.
