Guido Gelsomino, 82, of Johnston, passed away Friday, July 27, 2007 at his home. He was the beloved husband of Maria “Marie” (Buonanni) Gelsomino. Born in Lawrence, Mass., he was the son of the late Michele and Gelsomina (Di Gennaro) Gelsomino.
He had worked as a building contractor for the former Modern Building Company, a family business. He was a master craftsman and a former member of the Johnston Lions Club. He was also a communicant of St. Thomas Church in Providence and a Navy Veteran of WWII.
Guido was a loving husband and a devoted father. Besides his wife of 56 years, he leaves a son, James G. Gelsomino; a daughter, Kathy M. Myrberg; two brothers, Salvatore and Lonis Gelsomino and a sister, Dora Zarli. He was the brother of the late Anita Salvatore.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial Tuesday at 10am in St. Thomas Church, Fruit Hill Ave., Providence. VISITATION Monday, 5-8pm at the MACERONI Funeral Home, 1381 Smith St., North Providence. Burial will be private.
