Helen M. Martinelli ( Sylvia), 76, of North Providence and West Palm Beach, Florida, passed away Monday, December 14, 2009 at Our Lady of Fatima Hospital. She was the beloved wife of Guido Martinelli. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late John and Florence ( Brown) Sylvia.
Helen was a secretary at Our Lady of Providence Seminary School for several years and was previously employed at Lees Manufacturing. She was a loving wife and mother and a devoted grandmother.
Besides her husband of 54 years, she leaves two sons, John Martinelli and his wife Jean and Stephen Martinelli and his wife Sulema, a brother, Edward Sylvia and three grandchildren, John Martinelli II, Christopher Martinelli and Kayla Martinelli. She was the sister of the late John Sylvia.
Her funeral will be held Friday at 9 a.m. from the Maceroni Funeral Home, 1381 Smith St., North Providence, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Augustine Church, Mt. Pleasant Ave., Providence. Visitation Thursday 4-7 pm. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Providence.
