Ida Vollucci (Bertone), 91, of Providence, passed away Friday, August 6, 2010 at Rhode Island Hospital. She was the beloved wife of Matthew L. Vollucci, Sr. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Michele and Annunziata (Villani) Bertone.
Ida had worked for Brown & Sharpe Manufacturing as a munitions expert. She was a communicant of Holy Ghost Church and assisted in the operation of the Parish bingo. She was a volunteer at the Cathedral of SS. Peter and Paul and was also a member of the Kelley-Gazzerro VFW Post. Ida was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She enjoyed traveling and being with her cherished family.
Besides her husband of 65 years, she leaves two sons, Matthew L. Vollucci, Jr. and his wife, Karen and David J. Vollucci and his wife, Susan; seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren. She was the sister of the late Nicholas and Joseph Bertone, Filomena Green and Mary Mainelli.
Her funeral will be held Thursday, August 12, 2010 at 9 a.m., from the Maceroni Funeral Home, 1381 Smith St., North Providence, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Holy Ghost Church, Knight St., Providence. Visitation Wednesday 4-7 p.m. Burial will be in RI Veterans Cemetery, Exeter.
