Incornata “Mary” Cardillo (Corcelli) , 93, passed away Friday, August 15, 2008 at Our Lady of Fatima Hospital. She was the wife of the late Joseph M. Cardillo. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Potito “Peter” and Amalia (Cesino) Corcelli. She was a resident of Providence most of her life, before moving to Johnston.
Mrs. Cardillo had worked as a matron in the Governors Office for 22 years, before retiring in 1983 after having served under four governors. Previously she had worked as an assembler for the former Goodyear Footwear Co. She was a member of the UCT Providence Ladies Auxiliary.
Mary was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She leaves her daughter and caregiver, Mary Ann Scardera and her husband David, with whom she resided; a sister, Lucy Turner; four grandchildren, Julie, Donna and Raymond DiSanto and Dina Scardera; and three great-grandchildren, Giuliana, Jessica and Adriana. She was the sister of the late Anthony, Louis and Pasco Corcelli and Angelina Antoscia.
Her funeral will be held Tuesday at 9 AM from the Maceroni Funeral Home, 1381 Smith St., North Providence, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in St. Robert Bellarmine Church, 1804 Atwood Ave., Johnston. Visitation Monday 5-8 PM. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
