James C. Sisco, 96, of Smithfield, passed away on Thursday, December 17, 2020. He was the beloved husband of the late Ida J. (Izzi) Sisco. They had been married for 71 years. Born in Westerly, he was the son of the late Demetro and Francesca (Corino) Sisco.
Jim was a graduate of Brown University and worked as an insurance producer for Mutual of New York. He also worked as an accountant for many years before retiring. He enjoyed bowling, golfing, bocce and playing cards. He was an active member of AARP, the Sons of Italy and was a longtime parishioner of St. Anthony Church in North Providence. Jim was a Navy Veteran of World War II and the Korean War, where he served as a Lieutenant Commander. He was a kind and gentle man, always with a smile.
He is survived by his daughter, Donna Sisco; his daughter-in-law, Helen Sisco; three grandchildren, James C. Sisco, Gregory Sisco and Jenna Calcagno; eight great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was the father of the late James A. Sisco and the brother of the late Peter Sisco, Cosmo Sisco, Victoria Votta, Mary Votta, Rose Kimatian and Dorothy Quattromani.
Jim's funeral and burial with Military Honors will be private.
