James F. Wardick, Jr., 84, of Providence, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 22, 2021. He was the beloved husband of Lorena (Corrente) Wardick for 58 years. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late James F. Wardick, Sr.
Mr. Wardick served his community as a member of the Providence Police Department for 23 years before retiring as a Sergeant in 1983. He also worked as Bank Protection Manager for Old Colony Bank and Bank of New England. He was a member of the Providence Police Association, Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #3, and the Retired Police and Fire Association. Mr. Wardick also served his country as a member of the U.S. Army Reserves.
In addition to his beloved wife, he is survived by his son, James M. Wardick; his devoted daughter, Julie Lombardi and her husband, Dr. Anthony J. Lombardi; his cherished grandson, Lorenzo; two nieces, Janis Cimerol and Lorena Brown; and a nephew, William Corrrente.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend visitation on Thursday Morning, March 25, 2021 from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. in St. Augustine Church, 639 Mount Pleasant Ave., Providence. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10 a.m. Burial in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston will be private. Please omit flowers.
