Jean A. Rivera

Jean A. Rivera, 88, of Warwick, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, January 27, 2024. She was the beloved wife of the late Eugene P. Rivera, MD. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Guarino and Evelyn (Rotondo) Coletti.

A loving and devoted mother and grandmother, she is survived by her four children and four grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Edward G. Coletti.

Jean attended nursing school and then married the love of her life, Eugene P Rivera, MD.   They were married for 45 years until his death in 2002.  She raised 4 children, worked as a medical secretary for her husband, and was a former president of the St Joseph Hospital’s Women’s League.  She volunteered endless hours to her beloved parish, St. Gregory the Great, with great commitment and devotion.   Her kindness and generosity were felt by all that she touched.  Jean was truly an angel on earth.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, January 31, 2024 at  10 am in St. Gregory the Great Church, 360 Cowesett Rd., Warwick.  Interment will be private; and visitation is respectfully omitted.  In lieu of flowers, donations in Jean’s memory may be made to St. Gregory the Great Church, 360 Cowesett Rd., Warwick, RI  02886.
